Examples of giveaway items can include books featuring strong female characters, artwork depicting strong women, or prizes that in some way support female authors. Please note: the term "strong" can mean different things and we open to all interpretations of the word: physical strength, emotional strength, being in a position of power, having stupdendous magical powers... these are just a few ways that women can demonstrate strength.
Prize Information:There is no minimum prize value, but if your prize is under $10, then please make entry easy and limit the amount of entry requirements. Participants can offer more than one prize; prizes can be sponsored or self-sponsored. EACH PARTICIPANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING A PRIZE AND RUNNING A GIVEAWAY. Prize and giveaway must be exclusive to this hop. We recommend using Rafflecopter or a similar tool for collecting entries and selecting a winner.
Post Requirements:Participants' Giveaway Hop Post MUST contain: a) the linky - which must be visible in the post, b) the Giveaway Hop banner image, c) a link to the Strong Women in Fiction Facebook Group, and d) a description of the event host/Strong Women in Fiction. Participants whose post is missing any of the requirement elements will be removed from the hop/linky.
Participant Agreement: Participants agree to promote the hop to their newsletter subscribers, blog readers, and/or social media followers at least once during the event (participants can certainly promote the hop MORE than once during the event - the more "hoppers" we have, the better hop for all!). Participants are encouraged to share the hop with bloggers, authors and others who might be interested in participating as a hop site; the bigger the event the better!
Participants agree to provide the hop organizers with the direct link/URL of thier hop post by October 30 at 12:00 pm NOON. Participants whose links are not received will be removed from the linky. Any participants whose post is not live at 12:00 am EST on November 1st will be removed from the linky. If you end up being removed from the linky and want to be added back in, we will add you to the end of the list once the required information is provided.
Ready to join the hop? Add your website/blog name and URL to the linky below (please be sure to indicate if your giveaway is INT or US only)!
I love connecting with readers! I'm happy to arrange an in-person visit with book clubs, community groups, libraries, writing groups, and classrooms; in those cases where a live visit in not feasible due to distance, I am happy to arrange a visit via Skype (or other similar video chat software).
Hereafter Joins Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off Competition
Hereafter Has Joined the Ranks of the Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off 2017 Entrants
Writer Mark Lawrence has, for three years, run the Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off, a contest to bring attention to the number of high quality self-published fantasy books. As Lawrence noted in his introduction to the first SPFBO, the greatest challenge for self-published authors is discoverability. With so many books published daily/weekly/annually (through both “traditional publishing” and self-publishing) it’s incredibly hard for authors to get the word out about their books.
To that end, Mark created the SPFBO. Ten bloggers, most of whom don’t usually review self-published books, each agree to act as the judges. 300 books are accepted into the content and then randomly assigned to the ten bloggers (30 books each) to be reviewed.
What is a giveaway hop? It's when a bunch of bogs each host a giveaway on their own site and then all link together so visitors can "hop" from one giveaway to the next. All the links to the participating blogs are at the bottom of this post. Be sure to visit each site to enter their giveaway. You may find some great new blogs to follow in the process!

Reviews are the lifeblood of an author - they are the #1 promotional tool for any book, because they help readers find good quality books. Beyond that, some important promotional opportunities only open up to authors when they reach a certain number of reviews - 10, 50, and 100 are key milestone number of reviews that open doors for authors. Thereafter (Afterlife #2) is currently at 8 reviews on Amazon, and I'd like, with your help, to get it to the next milestone.
Are you ready for a scary good time? Well, then, you're in the right place! It's the Spooktacular Giveaway Hop - over 100 sites are participating, each giving away a prize worth at least $10. So after you enter my giveaway, be sure to scroll down to the list of participating blogs and visit them all!
We're celebrating SPRING! with a blog hop! Visit all of the participating bloggers listed below and enter to win sweet prizes on each blog! Every blog is hosting a different giveaway - each with a prize worth at least $25.
This month, I'm celebrating not just spring, but also the release of my third novel, Whereafter (which comes out March 15th), so for my giveaway I'm giving away an awesome swag pack featuring these adorable notecards from On Cupcake Moon!
The reason I love these notecards and am featuring them in my giveaway is that Whereafter features a character name Char (short for Chartreuse), who looks a lot like this zombie girl:
Jonah glanced up as the bell over the magic shop’s door jangled. He blinked in surprise. A girl had entered the shop, about his age or maybe a little younger, tiny, with elfin features and straight, waist-length, jet-black hair streaked with vivid purple. She wore a tight, black tank top, short, flouncy skirt, purple- and black-striped tights, and black, knee-high, lace-up combat boots. Even stranger, she had come in the ghost side of the store even though she didn’t have the blue-white shimmer of the dead.
When I saw these notecards, I knew I just had to have them! My giveway is open internationally. Good luck! While you're here, stop and take a look around - I've got a few other giveaways going on and some exciting events coming up. Plus, the e-book of HEREAFTER, the first novel in my Afterlife series, is on sale on Amazon for only $0.99!
Disclosure: Karen's Got Mail and the Welcome Spring Giveaway Hop participating bloggers are not responsible for sponsors who do not fulfill their prize obligations. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and any other social media are not affiliated with this giveaway.

Why let a little thing like dying get in the way of a good time?
Thirty-six-year-old Irene Dunphy didn't plan on dying any time soon, but that’s exactly what happens when she makes the mistake of getting behind the wheel after a night bar-hopping with friends. She finds herself stranded on earth as a ghost, where the food has no taste, the alcohol doesn’t get you drunk, and the sex...well, let’s just say “don’t bother.” To make matters worse, the only person who can see her—courtesy of a book he found in his school library—is a fourteen-year-old boy genius obsessed with the afterlife.
Unfortunately, what waits in the Great Beyond isn’t much better. Stuck between the boring life of a ghost in this world and the terrifying prospect of three-headed hell hounds, final judgment, and eternal torment in the next, Irene sets out to find a third option—preferably one that involves not being dead anymore. Can she wipe the slate clean and get a second chance before it’s too late?
